Q: mid-2010 iMac making long beeping sound during use
My mid-2010 iMac recently started making long, high-pitched humming sounds at random--normally after it's been on for a while. I recorded the sound but can't seem to attach it to this post.
Last night, it made a single, long, low-pitched beep (like an old Atari or something)--it is like the sound on this link, but it only does it once. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zbmx_555fcE
Does anyone have any thoughts on what might be happening?
Thanks!

Yes, I was aware of that; however, it may still be valid. The best course of action was already suggested: reseat the RAM modules. If that does not take care of it, it could be faulty RAM, malfunctioning RAM slot, or other hardware problems. In that case, back up all your files and take it to your nearest Genius Bar for an evaluation.
