my browser search has a lock on how do i unlock this?

A padlock symbol in a web-browser window usually means you are viewing a website that is using https encryption.

This is a good thing.

You want to be accessing most websites via an encrypted connection so as to stop anyone else being able to 'eavesdrop' on what you are doing, for example you would not want anyone to be able to see your bank account details especially the password when you login to an online bank website.

You cannot 'unlock' such sites, and these days even ordinary websites are increasingly using encryption as standard partly because as said 'this is a a good thing' and partly because Google are actively encouraging all websites to use encryption by giving encrypted websites a higher score in their search results.

Google's own sites including the Google search site all use encryption.
