Does Mac mini have problems with Photoshop CC?

I'm using a Mac mini (ending 2014)...

2,8 GHz Intel Core i5

8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Intel Iris 1536 MB

Yosemite 10.10.5

I did a lot of testes and Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 and CC 2015 crashes a lot.

Is a random problem that makes Photoshop freezes while is saving. No error message.

This cause a total lost of the file, because it starts to write on the file and freeze.

I already asked about this on Adobe forums and they push the problem to Apple, saying:

Sounds like you're seeing some of the well known video driver bugs in MacOS 10.10.

Apple is aware of these video driver bugs, and working on a solution.

But this problem also occur on the new OS.

I would suggest that you might try upgrading to El Capitan.

I could be wrong, but I doubt that Apple is working on any more updates for Yosemite. !0.10.5 was the last update released on August 13, 2015. There is no evidence that they are working on a 10.10.6 update.

And note that your Adobe forum link is dated August 2, 2015, 11 days before the release of 10.10.5.

I will try (again) to update to El Captain...

I already did this once... and the problem was worse.

This is the combination I already tried 2 months ago and the results:

Yosemite + CC2014 = some problems

Yosemite + CC2015 = many problems

El Capitain + CC2014 = many problems and the OS don't recognize some partitions and had many problems while was trying format

El Capitain + CC2015 = impossible to use, most of the time had problems

About the problem with partitions and El Capitain, I called the tech support and after almost one hour of conversation they didn't have idea what was the problem and asked me to format the mac to try solve the problem. Again.

And about this problem with Photoshop, nobody knows what is and how to solve. And on other forums I saw many people having the same problem and only with Mac.

Anyway, I will try to install the El Capitain again. Maybe there are some new updates that can fix the problem.

I will make some more tests with the new updates and post the results here.

Adobe has just released (today) updates to the CC photo apps

(Photoshop, Lightroom, Bridge). You may want to update.

Also, you may also have some other software installed that could be

causing problems (antivirus, cleaner app, optimization app, etc.).
