There used to be a version of SnapZ Pro or earlier similar product by same maker;

http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/snapzprox/ however it may not be available.

Years ago, I'd used their product known as WireTap to save audio files; it had a

free version or one that ran indefinite in demo mode. It was fun...

Contact the maker (by email?) and ask if they have old versions; even w/o support.

Looking through their site, I don't see the comparable older Snapz ProX on first look:

Most of these kinds of things were about their peak before the advent of Intel-Mac

in about 2005. Other options may be equally difficult to find in the vintage you seek.

Also, avoid those which were build for use in the early Intel-Mac, as they shipped with

their own version OS X 10.4 Tiger; unlike later 10.5 Leopard that had different features.

There are two versions of Tiger, one for PowerPC hardware, other for Intel Mac builds.

So avoid software only intended for early Intel builds, running their first as-shipped OS X.

Old software online may be of questionable legality or could contain other bad items

along with their download; or not contain anything at all like you hoped. Be careful if

you see something that may sound like the thing you want.

The example of 10 applications for Mac OS X (earlier reply) is an old page but any links

still working that go to product appear to show the latest or from OS X 10.7 to present.

You may need to consider a later model computer for such items, something that runs

at least Snow Leopard, 10.6.8 and research if what you want to do still is made for it.

Good luck! 🙂

After some searching, the Ambrosia Software company has a link to vintage product;

the SnapZ Pro. The exact supported hardware is not listed here; contact them for info

in case this was intended for early Intel Mac 10.4 OS X. It was a good product even

before the 2006 introduction of coreduo/core2duo processing architecture to Mac.

Any of these which may work, could be limited to 14 days demo. Contact the maker;

because these old versions are said to no longer see support -- they may cost less.

Good luck in any event...! 🙂

Well, in the day, you may have gotten the SnapZ Pro to work, as that was available.

The system in use pre-dates the ability to record screen movies; or at least the version

of QuickTime for Tiger (and Leopard) did not allow it. Some third-party applications for

this kind of thing had been available for a limited time, at retail.

Other products, such as Players, used quicktime as a basis of their function, but not

to create video so much. Perian, & so on. Been some time and my last PPC G4 iMac

with Tiger needs hardware repair, the parts difficult to locate & mostly not cost effective.

Did you look into sites such as this:

Not sure what they still have, been awhile since I thought to look -- then carefully peeked in. 🙂
