iPod nano 6th gen won't download music from my iTunes

My iPod nano 6th gen won't download music from my iTunes because the music on my iTunes is from apple music ? Every time i try to sync music to my iPod a warning pops up saying cannot download apple music, even though songs on my iTunes are downloaded 'apparently' from apple music. Any suggestions?
