Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. I'm sorry for any confusion with regard to the iCloud Status of your purchased Amazon content. In this context, Apple Music under iCloud Status can mean either music added from Apple Music or music that was matched to an Apple Music song, as noted here:
iCloud Status
The statuses in the iCloud Status column can help you figure out if a song was purchased from the iTunes Store, added from Apple Music, matched with iTunes Match, uploaded, or something else.
- Apple Music: You added this song from Apple Music or it was matched to an Apple Music song.
- Matched: This song was matched with iTunes Match.
- Purchased: You bought this song from the iTunes Store.
- Uploaded: You uploaded this song to iCloud Music Library from a CD or other source.

What is the difference between an "Apple Music" matched song indicated as "Apple Music" and a song marked as "Matched" by iTunes Match?
For songs I "own" the song meta-data indication has been either "Matched", "Uploaded" or "Purchased", never "Apple Music".
How do I know that, if I canceled Apple Music, that the songs on my computer, that I bought are not removed or encumbered because they're marked as "Apple Music" because I no longer have a subscription?

If you subscribe to both iTunes Match and Apple Music, matched tracks should show as "Matched", "Purchased" or "Uploaded". Only tracks added from AM should show as "Apple music". I have not had any instances where owned music has shown as Apple Music. However, I have observed during the matching process that some tracks initially show as Apple Music but after the process complete it changes to matched or uploaded.
The music in your library is not altered unless you opt to delete and redownload the Apple Music version - DRM would be added. I suggest that if the iCloud status is incorrectly shown as Apple Music, delete the tracks and then reimport them again.

This is usually my last refuge for an Apple answer.
I usually find these forums a snarky place for answers to Apple problems, though I think Linc Davis is one the best resources any where for giving answer's in his area of expertise on the Apple Forums.
My question was posted here after research elsewhere on the internet. This issue has been cropping up since the release of Apple Music. I am not alone in having this issue. I've had this issue when Apple Music was first released, and I don't remember how exactly it got remedied, but it has raised its ugly head again.
@Mobile Blues - Thank you for the link, read it several times prior to post, and read through it again. There's nothing new I gleaned from it, but still a fairly good document. My question was actually more a ploy for a deeper and more clear answer to "Apple Music" match and and "iTunes Match" match, and the relationship of the reasoning why it occurred to my purchased Amazon song marked as "Apple Music" when it resided on my Mac prior to Apple Music ever existing.
@Jimzgoldfinch - Exactly how I believed it to work. Exactly, how it worked prior to "Apple Music". I had several small snap shots that showed the file existed prior to "Apple Music" and the incorrect meta-data info. These snap shots failed to upload to Apple forums. After numerous file renaming attempts I gave up. I was able to look at the info I had backed up on my Time Machine.
What I believe is happening, is that sometimes when I stream Apple Music to one of my iOS devices, in this case I believe it was a song from a curated Apple Music playlist. The song from that Apple Music Playlist also happens to be a song I bought from Amazon and resides on my Mac. When I first purchased that song it was marked as "Match" or "Uploaded" by iTunes Match. I am persnickety with my iTunes library and always check the meta-data. It appears that Apple Music cached/downloaded the song to my iOS device and marked it as an "Apple Music" download. It seems that Apple Music was unaware that it was already a "Matched" or "Uploaded" song from iTunes Match. Since the iOS device had it marked its meta-data as "Apple Music" this was synced to the cloud and then synced to my Mac as "Apple Music". It appears that anything marked as "Apple Music" is of higher priority then a song marked as "Match" or "Uploaded" and so usurps to that level of ownership. Though, since it was purchased from Amazon and is an mp3 and most likely does not contain any "Apple Music" DRM there are still no device restrictions. But, I don't know what the behavior is of iTunes on termination of an "Apple Music" subscription. Does, iTunes on termination of Apple Music use this information "Apple Music" in the meta-data to delete all songs marked as "Apple Music" Oy! I hope not!
This seems to be an intermittent problem. It doesn't occur all the time. It's only happened a few times since December when a new version of iTunes was released. Whether it's related to that release IDK, though this was a problem with the initial release of Apple Music.
