    Try this:

Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM

Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - El Capitan

    Boot to the Recovery HD:

Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears.

    Repair

When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the indented Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list.  Click on the First Aid tab in the toolbar.. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run First Aid until no errors are reported. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.

Now, Download and Reinstall OS X El Capitan 10.11.3 Combo Update.

If this does not help then here is a tip from another user: Safari Preferences > Search > Uncheck Include Safari Suggestions. Some users say this has helped.

Hi, this problem started yesterday without apparent reason. I have done all the tricks recommmended by this discussion but Safari just hangs for long time loading a webpage and sometimes stops completely without accepting any mouse clicks at all.

Please note that I have a MacBook Pro mid 2012 13 in. with 16GB ram and 10.11.3.

All the recommended solutions do not solve the problem.

I had to download WebKit nightlies from webkit.org to solve the problem. Now I do not use Safari anymore but only WebKit app instead and there is no crashing anymore (I hope!!)

Reminds me of working with Windows ...

Has anybody read the solution apparently given by Appel yesterday to the media at large : I read about it in The Guardian (GB).
