Q: iOS 9.2.1 iPhone 6 "imessage waiting for activation"
So my shared family data plan ran out with 3 days to go in the usage cycle. To spare myself the wrath of my parents, I turned off all cellular data and iMessage because I've been told that uses data. When I'm home I'm on wifi, so iMessage was working. I had to leave the house, so I turned iMessage off. phone
I got home and turned iMessage on, but now it won't connect to my phone number. It will only send through my email. I went on my MacBook (where my Apple ID is used and I sometimes use imessage from) and I had a flurry of texts that my phone had never received.
I tried everything (as per If you get an error when trying to activate iMessage or FaceTime - Apple Support) except contact my carrier about SMS messages (I'm sending/receiving those no problem), and I haven't waited 24 hours for it to activate.
I'm currently connected to wifi and I'll have to leave my house again to go to work. If I still have the wait to activate on and it activates outside my wifi, won't I be charged for Data usage?
Thank you!
iPhone 6, iOS 9.2.1
