Hi,
I have a formatted 900Kb Word doc that I put into iBook Author. It has no pics and uses only one text style throughout.
Exported as iBook it reaches 32Mb
Exported as ePub it reaches 2.3Mb
Exported as a PDF it reaches 2.4Mb
Has anyone any idea how to reduce the size of the iBook version as it's too big for email but I really want it as an iBook. It arranged in chapters but even the chapter headers are the same font and size as the body text.

you might try to compress it to see if the size is reduced to a point where it can be emailed.
otherwise you might try dropbox in lieu of mailing it to others.
An iBook (unlike ePub and pdf) can only be read on an apple device. Is that really ok for your purpose?

I have tried compression but it does cause some difficulty when uncompressed. And yes I actually would prefer it as an iBook for a variety of reasons.
I'm going to try it in InDesign next to see what I get from that. Otherwise it's ePub for ease of use.

You will have to export InDesign to epub or pdf for anyone to be able to read it in any case.
