How to simplify Login on Imac (OS X El Capitan)

Is there a way to simplify the login process on the imac?

My elderly parents are not always able to login. They don't seem to be able to see what characters they are typing as what appears on screen is dots. I thought they picked an easy password, but there are times they cannot get in.

In Users and Groups, would either of these options help?
"Show input menu in login window" << what does this do?

"Use VoiceOver in the login window"

I searched the Support page and could not find anything to explain what these options

Also on my own IMac, these options are all greyed out, so not sure how I would be able to select them?

Is there even an option to NOT HAVE A PASSWORD?

If you find a KB article, please post in comments. There are times I wish there was a manual to explain things like this.

Just turn on automatic login. That way they don't have to input anything. There is no option to not have a password however, because the administrator account needs to authenticate the updating/installing of applications. Doesn't matter if it's an update to Adobe Flash or an upgrade of the system's OS. When you first got the computer, you had to choose a password.

You can turn on Automatic Login by first going to System Preferences --> Security & Privacy:

User uploaded file

Click the padlock, input your password, and then uncheck "Disable automatic login." Click the padlock again to save those changes. Next, go to Users & Groups:

User uploaded file

Click the padlock again, input your password, and then set Automatic login to "On." Click the padlock to save those changes.

Just to confirm what others are saying, I have my i_mac set up to not require a password on start-up (except when I'm away on vacation or long trip). I also have it set to shut down every night at 11 PM and on again at 5:30 AM (although you do have to select "Never go to sleep" in the computer slider in Power Saver. The monitor can go to sleep, just not the computer or else it will not shut down as desired). Doing both would have the computer ready to go whenever your parents wanted to use it. All they have to do is touch a key or click the mouse.
