How do I install a new printer profile?

I need to add a new profile for a different paper. How do I put the new profile (.icc) in the proper bin?

Aperture 3, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

If you want to install the color profile for all users on your mac, put it into the folder

/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/

- the Library folder at the to level of your MacintoshHD.

If you want to install it only for your current user account, put the profile into the corresponding folder in the Library in your Home folder:

~/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/

Your user library may still be hidden. To reveal the hidden User Library:

  • Bring the Finder forward by clicking on the Desktop or the Finder icon in the Dock.
  • Select your user/home folder (with the house icon in the Finder sidebar)
  • With that Finder window as the front window, press the key combination ⌘J to bring up the View options.
  • In the View options panel enable ’Show Library Folder’. That will make your user library folder visible in your Home folder.
  • Open your Home folder, then the "Library" folder, then "ColorSync" , then the folder "Profiles".
  • Move your new profile into this folder. Restart Aperture.
