Can no longer stream Amazon Instant Video using Microsoft Silverlight like I used to

On my Macbook, I updated my iOS X El Capitan to version 10.11.3 today and now I cannot get Silverlight to work anymore when trying to stream amazon instant videos! I downloaded Silverlight again but when starting a movie, it says Silverlight is not installed. I must assume that this recent El Capitan update has something to do with this. Help!

iPhone 3GS, iOS 3.1.3

thanks Duane. I first downloaded it from Amazon when i was trying to stream a movie. Now i did try your link and in both cases, its seems that Silverlight loaded successfully but when i try to start a movie, it tells me I need Silverlight. My browser is Safari 9.0.3. I have been streaming videos no problem from Amazon no problem until i recently upgraded my OS to El Capitan 10.11.3. ever since i did this upgrade, i cannot stream movies from Amazon. Thanks for the advise anyway.

I just tried Safari and have no problem streaming Amazon prime video. I am using OS 10.11.3, Safari 9.0.3

Do you have Silverlight enabled in Safari?

  1. Go to Preferences -> Security.
  2. Click the "Plug-in Settings..." button.
  3. Ensure that Silverlight is selected and the drop down menu in the box at the left is set to "Allow". (see screenshot below)

Have you disabled any Safari extensions? Perhaps one is causing the problem.

Have you tried using Firefox or Chrome?

I just started having this same problem after the most recent system upgrade on my Macbook Air Version: 10.11.6 (15G1004). I am getting error 5000 when trying to stream amazon videos. Amazon tech support had me upgrade WideVine, but this didn't work. They then had me disable my firewall and reboot my system. This has not worked. I'm having this problem in Safari, Firefox and Chrome.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Kevin
