Q: moving screens from IMac to thunderbolt. Screens will not move over. what s wrong

I connected a Thunderbolt display to my IMAC 27 in computer and I can not move anything to the thunderbolt. How do I do that?

iPhone 5, iOS 7.1

i have already connected the Thunderbolt to my IMac via the thunderbolt cable connection. I see my home screen on the new display as soon as I turn the IMac on.. I can not drag and pages from the IMac to the thunderbolt display
