iPad 9.2.1 Update Causes Audio Distortion

Since updating one of my iPads to version 9.2.1, the audio from my speakers has sounded very bad. When I play YouTube videos, iPad games, and songs, there is sounds of static and distortion. At its highest volume, the audio becomes garbled. Even a hard restart of the device had no affect in resolving the sound issue.

Prior to the update, I had no problems from the sound driver.
