Upgrading to a 6s soon will my photos/videos from my 5s transfer to the new phone through icloud if backed up?

I've been backing up my 5s to the cloud due to upgrading in a couple of days and I don't want to lose pictures or videos. I've tried finding them through iPhoto on my macbook, not sure if that's a thing? Thing is the only way I've been able to get ahold of the content is by airdropping it onto the macbook but unfortunately it's not as easy. So, if everything I have is backed up to the cloud will everything from the old phone restore when I sign into it on the new phone?
