Q: iPhone 5C activation server temporarily unavailable (Sprint)
I just bought a Sprint iPhone 5C from a friend when he upgraded. The phones' service and everything worked fine, he removed his iCloud and reset it for me. However, during the setup process, it refuses to activate and I can't use the phone. The error reads: "Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is currently unavailable." I have gone through this setup 50 times by now, connected to iTunes, restored 3 times (to iOS 9.2.1), removed the SIM and put it back in, tried Apple's own support page for activation issues, the works. Sprint says to contact Apple, but the phone is obviously out of warranty and it's even got a few cracks. I highly doubt they would replace the device under these conditions. What can I do to get it to work? I'm currently out of a phone entirely, and would appreciate any help as soon as possible. Thanks in advance!

I've just had an update. I went into the sprint store and got a completely new SIM card, the phone activated immediately. Those with similar symptoms after trying everything above: have your SIM replaced by your carrier in store, that may be the problem. No idea why that would be an issue, it didn't look damaged in the slightest. However, it still caused an issue and a new one fixed it instantly.
