I had a lifeproof case on my iphone 6s, and the charging seal was open.

I spilled a glass of water on my iphone 6s, with the charging seal open unfortunately, and while the rest of my phone was sealed off, water did get into the charging port. I quickly absorbed the moisture I could with a cloth, took the case off, turned off the phone, and put it in a bag of rice. I then checked my sim card, and it showed no water damage. However, since the damage would have entered via the usb port, I don't know if I should still be worried.

I felt to secure with the lifeproof case, I didn't realize how careful you must be closing the charging port seal. Should I keep my phone in rice, continue using it, or do something else?
