Third-party tools are notorious for causing problems. You are already running Gdisk. Creating a new GPT with the appropriate start/end is the recommended way to go. It is the quickest method to recover your data, without re-installing any OS.

You are already using Gdisk when you posted the screen shot I asked for. Did you look at the link I provided on the previous page?

In Gdisk, use the following sequence of commands. Do not type the text in parentheses, it is only an explanation. The values came from your Gdisk 'p' command output. Please confirm the numbers with your Gdisk 'p' output to ensure they are correct. We will not create anything beyond GPT4.

Reboot and test. If you see any error messages, stop and post the error message.

Did you take screen shots of the exact steps? Can you post them? If not, you will need to install OSX on the 16GB USB and boot from it or boot into OSX Internet Recovery.

Do you have an external hard disk or a USB flash drive? Do you have the grey disks that came with your Mac? Does your Optical (CD/DVD) drive work properly?

What is the version of the OSX on the DVD? If it is OSX 10.6 or higher, it can be used.

Backup your USB, if you have any files on it.

    Connect the 16G USB.

    Insert the Macbook DVD

Shutdown Mac, power it up and hold the Alt/Option key.

Select the DVD and boot from the DVD.

Format the USB as a Mac OSX Extended (Journaled) format. (please ensure you do not modify the internal disk in any way).

    Install OSX on the USB.

Shutdown your Mac, and power it up and hold Alt/Option key, and select the USB to boot from.

Upgrade the OSX version to match the version you had on the internal disk.

    Install GPT Fdisk (Gdisk).

Post the output of the following Terminal command.

    diskutil list

If your Mac is currently not working, do you have a second computer? Even if you are to get a DMG of the OSX installer, it will be stored on your 16GB USB. Which disk can you use to install OSX, because the USB is already in use?
