Mail: can't remove a mailbox from favorites bar

Hi all,

I've added a local (On My Mac) mailbox to my favorites bar in Mail. I want to remove it (from the bar, not delete the mailbox). I click and drag it off the bar, and see the smoke puff and hear the sound -- then it immediately reappears on the bar!

I can't find anything via Google, so I'm hoping someone can help?

I was able to resolve this issue with the following steps:

Go to Mail -> Preferences -> Accounts tab
Uncheck the "Enable this account" checkbox (to temporarily disable the account containing the folder stuck in the Favorites bar).
While the account is disabled, drag the (now greyed out) folder out of the favorites bar.
Finally, reenable the account.

This is happening to me as well, but only with three items on the favorites bar. I can add and remove other mailboxes, but if I try to remove three particular mailboxes, I see the smoke puff and hear the sound, but they immediately reappear in the bar.

It is quite frustrating.
