I can't AirDrop from my iPhone6 to Macbook even the Bluetooth and Wifi are on and my devices are set discoverable by Everyone. How can I fix this?

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. I understand AirDrop isn't working from your iPhone to the Mac.




Having Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on are required for AirDrop, so that's a good start. I gather they are both on the same Wi-Fi network.


AirDrop - iPhone


With iOS 8 (or later), you can share with Mac computers with OS X Yosemite (or later). AirDrop transfers information using Wi-Fi and Bluetooth—both must be turned on. To use AirDrop, you need to be signed in to iCloud using your Apple ID. Transfers are encrypted for security.

User uploaded file

Share an item using AirDrop. Tap User uploaded file, then tap the name of a nearby AirDrop user.
