Q: The curser on my mac pro will not respond to the commands to open a page or select anything.  Any suggestions

I am using a Mac Pro and had problems with my curser not responding to commands.  I had not upgraded from Maverick.  I called apple and the first step was to upgrade to El Capitan 10.11.3.  I did that and still have the problem where the curser will not respond to commands intermittently.  It will stop unexpectedly and restart unexpectedly.  Any suggestions?

    Try another mouse/pointing device.

Does it work in Safe Mode?

The answer was I had a magic mouse in my backpack that had accidentally turned on.  The blue tooth was interfering with my track pad.  I felt like an idiot but not as bad as the guy at the genius store who diagnosed a track pad that is lower than it should be and that was the issue.  Another senior rep took a second look as they thought they had to send it off to be repaired.  I was glad it did not have to get shipped.  Live and learn.  I was the second one that day with the same issue.  Posted for others to find the solution.  I thank you for the reply!

Seriously, that was what they told you to do when you described the cursor problem? That's a ridiculous response. Was this actually a tech support person who told you you needed to upgrade?

Yes it was an apple rep that had me upgrade.
