My Macbbok Pro unable to startup and shutdown

My MacBook Pro Mid2010 is unable to startup , it is only able to startup when I try pressing control-command-option. It is also unable to shutdown while I can only shut it down or restart it by pressing power button. It tends to get hot on the top left part of the keyboard after I startup the laptop, I was planning to make a reformat for it but I was unable to connect my hard disk to the laptop to save my data. I even tried to open disk utility to solve it but it is not responding and unable to open. I am now using my phone to write this post as my safari is also unable to connect to the sether while my modem is working properly.
