Video from compressor unplayable due to permissions issue

Just got several new Mac Pros at work. Any video that comes from compressor 4 is unplayable on the older macs. Can't even add a color tag because the older computers don't have permission. Quick view will play the video but opening in quicktime results in a -50 error. Also tried to burn the video to a dvd in toast and received the same -50 error. Under sharing and permissions the only user with read & write privileges is listed as (unknown). Any idea what could be causing this?

I'm not sure I understand what you're describing. Are these old and new Macs on the same local network? Guessing that someone is compressing video on a new Mac and you can't open the file in the old Mac. Or are is this distributed processing? So how are the output files from Compressor making the trip from one Mac to the other? On the older Mac, can you open a file that was created in Text Edit on the new Mac?
