How to Keep a Sources Formatting while Pasting into Pages

In the Bible, God’s personal name is replaced with the title “Lord” using small caps. When copying from the Bible and pasting into Pages, the title “Lord” pastes without small caps. However, when pasting into my email client, the passage pastes correctly. Has anyone found a solution for this problem?

There are several factors.

  1. How is that Bible electronically formatted?
  2. Does the font that you are using in Pages support SMALL CAPS?
  3. Does the unspecified version of Pages that you are using properly support small caps?
  4. Is your unspecified email client converting that paste operation into a CSS3 font-variant: small-caps; style as shown above in <2>?

What font is that unspecified email client using?

Hello, VikingOSX. I'm not very computer knowledgeable, so thank you for your help.

1. I'm not sure how the Bible is electronically formatted. But the title "Lord" is in small caps.

2. Yes, the font supports small caps. I'm using Calibri.

3. I'm using Pages 5.6.1, and small caps works if I do it manually. It just doesn't work when copying and pasting.

4. I'm using Yahoo Mail (that's an email client, right? 😕)

What happens if you copy/paste or copy/paste with matching style from the Bible into TextEdit, and if that is satisfactory, then copy/paste from TextEdit into Pages. The long way around, but Pages and TextEdit are implemented differently and you may have more success via TextEdit first.

A shortcut: When you select the content in the Bible, choose application menu : Services : New TextEdit Window Containing Selection.

2 & 3: Yeah, Calibri and manually via Typography panel. Haven't used Yahoo mail in six years, so unfamiliar with its content and no ability to test it here.
