Look, there is really nothing strange or startling about any of these websites and the fact that they were built with iWeb - so what?  Old news and now old hat!

Now days, most people do not want to have to use external coding to create a mobile copy of their site - if you take a look at EverWeb you will see that you can create a mobile version of your site with just one click, that is all.

For goodness sakes just move on and stop clutching at straws and hoping Apple with do anything with iWeb - it is never going to happen now.

The point is I feel fascinated with an older software can do great modern Webdesign. I tried EverWeb and it didn't attracted me. Of course needs to persistent, but didn't felt what I feel with iWeb... The smoothness, the friendly user... It's just unique.
I feel fascinated how great is such a old software, that's it. I feel admired with so many new startup softwares borning each minute, when you can do high quality work with a simple, hipster-free-design, jargon-free software. I feel iWeb is a salvation on such a hipster, pure tech, complicated software world industry.
I am just here sharing my passion.

It's a lost cause and I doubt that anyone will because they have all moved on to other software by now.

You are correct. May I ask you Ethmoid, I feel a sadness on your reply. Do you feel the same sadness of mine, of iWeb being discontinued?
And as I see, Apple is losing the initial spirit too...

No - there is no sadness in my reply whatsoever.  I am simply stating a fact that is a lost cause to flog a dead horse and that most folks, including myself have moved on.

Yes, I used to use iWeb for a long time and created my business sites on them, but I suddenly realised that others had moved on with the look and feel of their sites too, so I decided to move on, as I wanted more from my sites, such as restricted content pages etc., and member login, that iWeb was never capable of doing at the start, so I switched to the Content Management Systems, specifically Drupal a long time ago now.

I am not sad at all about iWeb being discontinued - left it behind a long time ago and it served its purpose for the way sites looked in the early days and now - the content management systems, such as Drupal and WordPress have a lot more to offer and you get a more professional look and feel.

No sadness at all - I moved on a long time ago and so should you.  I think you'll find Apple did so with iCloud to try and improve things, so I think you'll find that they have also moved on and iWeb is not coming back.

The site is not made with iWeb, but Adobe Muse and if you have Adobe Muse CC, then you use it for your website and not iWeb.

    Hello Admins,
Can I ask you to be able to modify the 1st post I've posted on this discussion, to change the original links to a bity.url link? I am asking this to avoid privacy issues of my clients. Thank You.

Not alone in this battle Corier!

I still use iWeb, though recently updated to El Capitan and I´m having several problems, but nevertheless expect dealing with them.

In some particular case, I use Wordpress. I have tested some CMS, and prefer Wordpress, but above all them, still prefer iWeb.

iWeb it has no end. The most you uses it  the most you find. Every idea you get, it´s easy to put on practice.

Some time ago I discovered Hype2, and the couple iWeb+ Hype2, is endless. Hype2 brings to life loads of things that you currently cannot do with iWeb, so the powerful combination of both is awsome.

Now I´m working with some programs capable of making responsive sites. This is the only real limit to iWeb, but in the other cases, I have not found comparison, and have worked and tested a lot!

Sometimes I think of Apple making a move, revamping iWeb to do responsive sites. Should be the next amazing success.

I let you a couple of scholar webs of mine using iWeb. Usually nobody guess it!

Hi ayusojc! Thanks for sharing the same battle!

I noticed some problems too on using El Capitan, thats why I had to come back to OS X Yosemite.

iWeb it has no end. The most you uses it  the most you find

That is so correct. I am very impressed with this amazing Software.

The Hype software you are referring is this one?: http://tumult.com/
Do you know where I can get (legally) the version Hype2?

Now I´m working with some programs capable of making responsive sites.

You can do mobile websites with iWeb, even to detect the screen size of the device that is visiting  and redirect to a mobile website version. There is a Post here on Apple Community talking about how to do that. Unfortunately responsive no.

    http://www.colegioinfantaleonor.es/

    http://www.colegioh2m.com/

    Those websites are pretty good!

    Thanks for the sharing.

    Hi Corier,

The Hype software is provided by Tumult. Your link is correct, you can buy it at Tumult web, now  goes on version 3. Believe me is a perfect companion for iWeb. You can do from interactive menus, to gorgeous animations, very easily.

I know that iWeb can perform mobile sites, though is not so convenient as responsive, due specially to the wider work involves.

Anyhow, I believe that the "www future", will not be responsive, nor even mobile, as many seem to claim actually. I think that the future is static. Why?

The growing capabilites of smartphones, their increasing resolution, will narrow (or will make dissapear) the gap between them and desktop.

On the other hand, I cannot accept a limited version of a website, only because its mobile. Where it goes the marketing of a company, its image, its positioning when you turn its website in a "mee-too" versión of stacked colored strips? Is like putting down, years of hard work.

I will share with you that sometimes clients ask for responsive websites, but when you rationalize the fact, they use to agree with my stated point of view, or not...

    Kind regards,
