Q: Iphone Photos Wouldn't Import into Photos on Macbook

I went to upload my photos from my iphone to my macbook and I keep on getting "unreadable file" and "database error: failed to persist version". I am upload my photos many times in the past and even just a few weeks ago I upload some photos before I updated my mac to the latest software version. Any idea how to fix this error? I am able to put the photos on my computer just fine and view them in preview, but the will not import into mac's photos. I even tried importing other images (not from my iphone) and nothing will import into photos for mac.
