Mac Pro Bootcamp Win 7 802.11n issue

Hi Guys,

I have a Mac Pro 13 (late 2013), and installed windows 7 Professional via Bootcamp.

From device manager, I can see the wireless adapter is Broadcom 802.11ac.

But I am having problem connecting to 802.11n.

If I change the wireless mode to 802.11g on my router, then my mac has no problem connection to the wifi. once I change the mode to 802.11n, then it kept saying there is an issue with the network adapter.

I reckon this is a wireless adapter issue, and downloaded and installed a few Broadcom 802.11n adapter, and but the issue still exists.

Have any of you encountered the similar issue and got a fix for this?

Thanks a lot.

If you are connected via OS X and Alt-Click on the WiFi icon, it provides a drop down, which can show some details of the SSID. In some cases, a 40 Mhz channel may be problematic, based on the drivers loaded.

Is the radio 2.4G or 5G? I have a 2013 rMBP, which has no issues with W7/802.11n and wide channels. It is using the standard BC5 W7 Broadcom driver. Please see Re: Windows 10: BCM43xx S3 resume firmware initialization problem (MacBook Pro 15 mid 2014) .

It's 2.4G. actually I tried both 2.4G and 5G, both didn't work. The wireless adapter is Broadcom 802.11ac, which should be able to handle 802.11n.

I tried to download Broadcom 802.11n adapter and installed it, it didn'w work either.

Can you please share me with the link of the your wireless driver?

I will give it a go.

Thanks

The driver is located at Install Windows 7 and earlier on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support . Choose the link appropriate for your year/model and download the BC5 drivers package.

For your 2013 13 inch model, you need Boot Camp Support Software 5.1.5640, which has the following System requirements

Post Date: Feb 11, 2014

File Size: 925.6 MB

System Requirements

  • MacBook Air (11-inch & 13-inch, Early 2014)
  • MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch & 15-inch, Mid 2014)
  • MacBook Air (11-inch & 13-inch, Mid 2013)
  • MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch & 15-inch, Late 2013)
  • Mac Pro (Late 2013)
  • iMac (21.5-inch & 27-inch, Late 2013)
  • Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1, 64-bit

You will need to run the driver by hand from the Drivers -> Broadcom folder.
