My star ratings appear in my main viewer window, but not on thumbnails. How can I get my ratings on my thumbnails?

Edit the metadata overlay for the browser:
Click the badge-icon for the Metadata Overlays and select "Edit".
Then, in the edit panel select the Grid view you are using - basic pr advanced, enable the ratings to show and drag Ratings to the top of the list.
