Q: Just received my ipad pro pencil.  Paired it...and nothing. it is connected to bluetooth. I can't get it to work.

I just received my ipad pro pencil.  I paired it.  The Bluetooth is on and it tells me the pencil is connected.  When I try to use the pencil, nothing happens!

What app/s are you trying to draw in?

Make sure the tip of the Pencil is screwed on securely.

Does the pencil work in pages? I thought once I paired the pencil I could go to pages and write.

I do not think Pages is a compatible Apple Pencil App as this is mainly a page layout app and not a drawing, note taking or text/image editing app.

It is probably the same with Apple Numbers and Keynote apps, as well. You would need to check their descriptions on the iOS App Store to check Apple Pencil compatibility.

You need to look for third party apps the are compatible with the Apple Pencil and with other stylii, as well.

Search the iOS App Store for

Apple Pencil apps or even Bluetooth stylus apps

to see if these types of apps are compatible with the Apple Pencil, too!

    Good Luck

    Quick update.

None of Apple productivity apps (Pages, Numbers and Keynote) are Apple Pencil ready/compatible, yet.

This may or may not change,

If you have the recent Apple Notes App you can try drawing or writing in that app by tapping on the squiggly line symbol/icon in the lower right hand corner of the notes app once you create a new note.
