Suppose if you have been waiting a few hours by now, it may

be about done. Are you Upgrading or updating? El Capitan

is an upgrade from older, full OS X versions; however a step

within the El Capitan OS X version, is only an update...

Upgrade is a new ferrari, update is a new set of plugs on vw.

If you have slow internet or a choice between Ethernet and

wi-fi, choose the Ethernet because it can be multiple times

faster than wi-fi across the same space between the router

and your computer to use the E-net cable.

And if you have yet to upgrade from Yosemite or older OS X

to El Capitan, be sure your Mac really wants it. Not just 'caus

the neighbor Macs have it installed. If you have a new iPhone

or new iPad, you may need to consider El Capitan; or maybe

Mountain Lion 10.8: costs, to buy download code from Apple.

Have you already started a slow & ponderous download? 😕
