importing photos to final cut express

I can't figure out how to import photos and videos from the new Apple Photos app to Final Cut Express.

Up until I upgraded to El Capitan (I was using Snow Leopard), I was able to access iPhotos directly from FCE and import what I needed.

Is there any way to do this?
