Q: Facing issue in MS Office 2016! Is it recommended to get support from third party tech support provider?

Office 2016 that I use on my MacBook Pro has turned into a nightmare. The search option in the suite is not working the way it should, making it difficult for me to find out the required mails quickly. Any search that I make leads to “no results” outcome despite of my emails being present in the mail box. Since my mac warranty has expired, I am confused about the best possible way to get the issue resolved as soon as possible. Should I contact Apple and renew the support subscription or should I go with an external tech support provider as Apple might not support MS products?

These are user to user forums.  We don't work for Apple and we certainly aren't MS developers.

For help with Office issues, post your question on Microsofts own forums for their Mac software where the Office guru's hang out.

Considering the scenario here what I think is it would be better to contact a third party tech support company for reaching to the roots of the problem and getting them eradicated completely. What makes me draw this opinion is that they would look into both Mac and Office issue without partiality as I still doubt that the issue is only with Mac as said by Microsoft Support, and not the Office. Plus, I wouldn’t have to visit two separate places for support consequently saving time. Moreover, they would render solutions at much cheaper rate. What do you suggest?

Good luck finding a free one. Why not actually describe in detail the problem you are having. Then maybe someone here can help you.

    Hello Terence

Thanks for responding! At the very start of the conversation, I explained the problem I am facing. However, on your request and eagerly waiting for an affordable and suitable solution I am explaining it again. I have a MacBook Pro on which I use MS Office 2016 for Mac, as a productivity suite. It possesses Outlook desktop email client that provides a search option for users to quickly find out a particular mail by putting in specific keywords like as the name of the sender, subject, date, etc. in the search box. Earlier the feature was working quite well, but now any search that I make leads to failure. Additionally, the Mac does not respond the same way as before. It reacts quite sluggishly whenever commanded for any task. This has doubled my worry and increased the complexity of the situation I was having a face-off with. This is the complete nuisance. Hopefully looking for an effective resolution that could finish up the issue quickly and from the scratch, as it has been days since I first posted my concern.

That makes absolutely no sense at all.  Why would you continue to waste your time?

Your issue is with Microsoft Outlook, so stop trying to figure out who you should ask for support and either contact MS support or post your question on the Microsoft Mac forums, as you were already instructed to many times. Considering there are MS appointed MVPs who frequent those forums you're much more likely to get the resolution you need rather than on an Apple forum or by contacting some third party support show who would probably just direct you to MS anyway.

Had you done that, you probably could have had the issue fixed by now.

Even after the discussion lasting for about 2 weeks, I have not yet received any kind of help from developers, neither the developers of the Mac nor MS Office. Can anyone suggest how to contact their tech support directly? However, I am still waiting for someone from Apple and/or Microsoft to get to me and address the issue.

No one, neither developers nor tech support from Apple or Microsoft reads these forums. You need to contact them yourself.

    Deal with this problem first:

    Start here:

Spotlight: How to re-index folders or volumes - Apple Support

This tells you how to recreate your Spotlight Index. If that fails then  this

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2741535

has things that might help and are worth trying.

Once you have the Outlook searching fixed see if this

Additionally, the Mac does not respond the same way as before. It reacts quite sluggishly whenever commanded for any task.

    is still an issue.
