URLs not working in Safari or Mail after iOS 9.2.1

After updating my iPad Air 2 iOS 9.2.1, I experienced Safari crashing when trying to open a new tab. I solved this problem by disabling Search Engine Suggestions and Safari Suggestions in Settings, as recommended. However now, if I've done a search, I cannot open any of the links in that search. If I type a specific URL in the Search Box, then I can open the page, but am unable to sign in, use any links from that page, etc. Also, I find that I am unable to open any URL links that I receive in Mail and tapping on a link then locks up Mail... I have done a full sync to my iMac, which can sometimes rectify a problem, but it hasn't helped in this instance.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Hello,

I have both iphone 6s 128gb and ipad mini and both started to have the same problem after 9.2.1. Upgraded to ios 9.3 still the same on both devices. Tried all sort of disabling/enabling functions to overcome the problem. Disabling javascript worked for some hours but now not working anymore.

It doesn't make sense to me go back to factory settings and then restore both devices with a lot of config that i have on both. Who did the restore did not have success at all. Apple, please, you should address the problem.

Best

Same here. Udated Ipad Air 2 to 9.3 two days ago, now now having all the mentioned "no link symptoms". Resets do not work. Disabling Java Script helped for Google search links, but links in mails do crash the app.... Fascinating that there is no answer from Apple at all... Writing this from my Nexus5, thankful for never buying an Iphone until now.

Hi! My wife is having the same issue with her iPhone 5S. I upgraded it to iOS 9.3 about 2 days ago and the problem just appeared today.

Turning off javascript for Safari works for links using the browser but all of her mail, calendar, and app links aren't working. This is a major problem and renders many of features of the phone useless. The only other change in the last day has been signing up for iCloud. Other than this nothing has changed. I did a "reset all settings" and it didn't change the extent of the issue.

I'm really hoping for some advice on this. My wife's phone is kind of dead in the water.

Same problem on iPad Air 2. After updating to 9.3 my Mail app freezes when I try to open a link from email. Links in Safari don't work and if i tap on them to open in a new tab Safari also freezes. I've tried to restore backup from iTunes that was made on 9.2.1. iTunes updated system to 9.3 immediately. Everything worked for some time, but problem reappeared when I redownloaded some apps and configured a new mail account. Then I tried to setup a new iPad. Again everything worked fine for some time but then problem reappeared. I'll try to clear iPad again and wait to look if problem will reappear without additional apps.

i havent updated to 9.3, still on 9.2 on my iphone 5S and Ipad air 2 and have had this version for quite a while. The phone is fine, but the ipad started having this problem today. Safari, Chrome and Mail are affected, but Puffin browser and Outlook app which I just installed, seem to be ok for now. I wish Apple would acknowledge the issue and start working on a solution.

This is getting crazy... The way to quickly get Apple's attention is to make sure people like APPLE INSIDER, APPLE WORLD NEWS and other sites know and expose this horrible bug.....

When things like antenna issues etc happen and are exposed by major blogs and sites, THEN apple takes notice.. So please if anyone has any contacts at any of these lets get them on board.

I have USELESS devices without being able to access most sites with Java on web and links from email.

Like those who have posted this before me, on 3/25/2016 I updated my iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2 to iOS 9.3 and the links in Safari and Mail do not work and the screen locks so I have to do a force quit. I reset and restored my iPad but to no avail. It was a waste of time. My wife's iPad Air 2 works fine after the iOS 9.3 update. She and I bought the iPads at the same time. Apple hasn't listed a timeline as to when the "fix" will be available.
