Mar 27, 2016 1:45 PM in response to Mrs C Spainby Pguich,Same problem. It started with my iPad Air earlier today, complained about it in this forum (different thread), and I checked my iPhone just before posting, and it worked. Now, just 20 minutes later, links don't work in my iPhone either, and I know I didn't do anything. This has to have something to do with synching via iCloud or similar.
only thing I can use is Chrome, but I have to long-press on links and select "open in new tab". Nothing works in Safari.

Mar 27, 2016 1:59 PM in response to Pguichby philipkohn,I started from a clean install 9.2.1 and put in all my 700+ apps (yes, I'm a major digital hoarder) from scratch, assuming that my backup had been corrupted at some point. Things worked well enough. Then I made the mistake of upgrading to 9.3 and the problem came back right away. I have a backup from before I upgraded that I am currently restoring.
When the problem happened, I immediately looked at the system log using Xcode and I can see that it has gone back to what I was seeing before.
The swcd (shared web credentials daemon) process is crashing every 10 seconds.

Mar 27, 2016 2:23 PM in response to philipkohnby nismo95tt,Having the same link-not-working/freezing issue as everyone else.
iPhone 6s 128GB, still running 9.0.2 (13A452). The problem started yesterday. Javascript disable does allow Safari to work when clicking links, but not other apps (Mail, Messages, etc).
Seems like an issue on the backend, or possibly somehow related to an app that was automatically updated for all of us??? Annoying issue that really impacts the phone's usability. Glad I came here before trying to "fix" it through updates and restores. Hope it gets worked out soon!!!

Mar 27, 2016 2:33 PM in response to kbk1412by Dptolle,I Am having the same problems. I wish Apple would have said something. I thought my iPad Air was broken. I have been working on it all day. Rebooting it and checking all my settings. I updated to 9.3 two days ago and yesterday my iPad locked up when I tried to open a link in my email, and today it's locking up when I try to open a news link as well. I can hardly use my iPad, so I hope Apple fixes this quick. I tried turning off Java script but it didn't help me. I also have a
iphone 6s and so far it's still working ok.

Mar 27, 2016 3:38 PM in response to Mrs C Spainby brexx,Same problem here, 6S Plus 128gb. 9.3. Started 3 days ago.

Mar 27, 2016 3:42 PM in response to Mrs C Spainby Scootbot,Yes me too. Using version 9.2.1 on iPad Air although my iPhone 6s is not affected. Safari links stopped working 10 hours ago.

Mar 27, 2016 4:43 PM in response to Mrs C Spainby TongueJedi,Don't waste your time restoring. I'm currently on a 6S plus. I first had the issue with a ota upgrade.
i restored as new from the direct file from the developer site as well as dfu mode and let iTunes download the file.
Both times the issue came back after a day. I'm glad to see the tech blogs are finally reporting it. I am working with an Apple engineer sending reports, but take it with a grain of salt. The last time there was an issue wih the 6 plus crashing when having over 400 apps...it took three OS updates for a fix after it made the blogs
it has to be either a iCloud issue or some app conflict. Im thinking of just deleting each app 1 by 1 and testing

Mar 27, 2016 5:37 PM in response to Scootbotby YH69,Same problem, links not working on iPad Air. Disabling Java may help a little but causes a host of other problems. Also, whether Java is enabled or not, I can't open links within websites eg when I try and order theatre tickets I can't select tickets from the main page. No links working in any of my emails. This is rendering my iPad useless. If not fixed in the next few days perhaps we can start escalating to the relevant media? This really is unacceptable.

Mar 27, 2016 6:06 PM in response to Mrs C Spainby TongueJedi,So further searching I read on another forum that someone discovered it had to do with apps that use browser ext.
He deleted dropbox onedrive yelp and google drive and links started working again.
He reinstalled yelp and it broke. He reinstalled google drive and it broke again. In his case he only had 4 apps.

Mar 27, 2016 6:40 PM in response to Mrs C Spainby Vires Virtus,Since upgrading, iPhone 6+ and iPad Air2, I can no longer access the Internet. I can perform searches and get result, however, none of the links work and if I tap them more than once, Safari/Firefox freezes. The same applies to any links in Mail when I click on them. The latest upgrade is significantly flawed. Have tried everything and nothing works. The same issue is plaguing most of my colleagues, who have also upgraded. This issue is just as bad with my iPad. Especially frustrating is I can't access anything on both plate=forms and its paralyzing my workflow. Very UPSET...!!!! Especially with no response from Apple on the issue.

Mar 27, 2016 7:41 PM in response to Mrs C Spainby sunny shinny,Same thing happening to me, both on my Ipad mini and iphone plus. The first one upgraded to IOS 9.2.1 The second to 9.3.
This is so disgusting, I use to work with my devices and now it is really impossible to do.
Any clues on when will be Apple fixing this???

Mar 27, 2016 9:20 PM in response to Mrs C Spainby panda1988,IMHO the problem is because some apps on the devices arent built correctly using this method described in here (on apple iOS developer library guide guide)
Look especially what i've put in BOLD
PS: I all started my investigation starting from my older post in here that I suggest to look if you want to know what is the problem Link to this post
Returns a Boolean value indicating whether or not the URL’s scheme can be handled by some app installed on the device.
Declaration
SWIFT
func canOpenURL(_url: NSURL) -> BoolOBJECTIVE-C
- (BOOL)canOpenURL:(NSURL *)urlParameters
urlA URL (Universal Resource Locator). At runtime, the system tests the URL’s scheme to determine if there is an installed app that is registered to handle the scheme. More than one app can be registered to handle a scheme.
The URL you pass to this method can have a common scheme or a custom scheme.
Return Value
NOif there is no app installed on the device that is registered to handle the URL’s scheme, or if you have not declared the URL’s scheme in yourInfo.plistfile; otherwise,YES.Read the Discussion section for more information on conditions that affect the return value.
Discussion
If this method returns
YESfor a given URL, iOS guarantees that that if theopenURL:method is subsequently called using the same URL, an app registered to handle the URL’s scheme will launch to handle it. This method’s return value does not indicate whether or not the full URL is valid or if the specified resource exists. If your app is linked against an earlier version of iOS but is running in iOS 9.0 or later, you can call this method on 50 distinct URL schemes. After hitting this limit, subsequent calls to this method return
NO. If a user reinstalls or upgrades the app, iOS resets the limit.Unlike this method, the
openURL:method is not constrained by the LSApplicationQueriesSchemesrequirement: If an app that handles a scheme is installed on the device, theopenURL:method works, whether or not you have declared the scheme.Availability
Available in iOS 3.0 and later.
