Q: URLs not working in Safari or Mail after iOS 9.2.1

Yes Puffin browser does a quite good job because it still works and opens links in new tabs. Without Puffin I had to use a notebook to write this text!

(It is used here for years but not as main browser.)

i exactly have the same problem !! even i haven't updated the IOS yet. My iphone is still 9.2.1 and also have that problem

I stupidly updated yesterday. Was expecting 9.3 but instead it updated to 9.2.1 and now can't use the internet! Really not happy! I have a 5s. Are apple working to fix this??

Same issue with a 6s, Can search in safari but then unable to open any web pages from there. Safari just freezes when try to open a link.

Short term workaround for Safari links is in Safari/Advanced/JavaScript Off. It works with my Ipad 3.

If it was booking.com app you should be able to resolve simply removing the icloud backup for booking.com, removing the app and restarting the iPhone after a reset of the settings I guess... But it's strange because I have been having the app on my phone for years now and everything works well so far...

Same to me, at all my devices iphones,ipads the links dont work and devices freeze.

Same problem as other users. One thread suggests a fix within a couple of days - that was on 25th and nil yet. The reset suggested by apple on one thread does nothing. Neither does disabling java. Result is ipad unusable for surfing. And apple isn't making any official announcements.

BTW my husbands iPhone 6 is increasingly demanding that he switch to 9.3. What took one click to remove message now takes 2. Perhaps apple would like to get its programming correct first before suggesting we switch for a "better more secure" service.

So I was using my Iphone 5s yesterday quite happily then I got the "link of death" issue.  cant use safari or link from emails just freezes or does nothing!!!

How can it just stop working mid use, no update, wasnt adding apps or doing anything...almost like a virus had infected the phone!

APPLE why is there such a deafening silence on this issue.  Clearly 9.3 didnt work and appears 9.2.1 is no better...at least put out a statement stating acknowledgment of the issues and estimated time for fix?

Disabling javascript on Safari (Definitions > Safari > Advanced > Javascript) has enabled Safarlinks. Email links still not working.

I've chatted with support about the Safarilinks and the mail links. JavaScript is a workaround for the Safari links. They told me that they're working on a solution for the mail links, but can't give a timeslot. And there's no workaround for this problem. Be patient, was the message

Since updating to 9.3, I have the same issue with my iPhone 6s - links not working, safari crashes etc.    somewhat irritating!

Instead of disabling javascript which is not really a solution nor a workaround in my opinion is to use desktop mode.

Tap and hold next to the address bar and choose "Request desktop mode".
