Mar 16, 2016 11:20 AM in response to xilvestreby poacher68,
Seems to be the same for me also. Having disabled javascript I can now open results from a google search in the safari app. But hypertext links in mail still do not work. For example, I tried to log on to this discussion from the link in Mail and Mail froze. So I am now in the discussion via the mail hypertext link using my windows laptop.I suppose having safari working is better than nothing ..... but we all need a proper solution!!

Mar 17, 2016 8:38 AM in response to Mrs C Spainby philipkohn,★HelpfulOk, this worked for me, but I tried a lot of other stuff, so who knows if all this is needed, or if something is missing.
Settings > General > Restrictions > Enable Restrictions (put in a pass code)
Disable Restrictions (same pass code)
Hold down On/Off and shutdown
wait 10 sec
Hold On/Off to restart
Settings > Safari > Search Engine > Bing
Open Safari and do a search and follow a link from Bing results
Settings > Safari > Search Engine > Google
after that everything seems to work...

Mar 17, 2016 8:40 AM in response to philipkohnby philipkohn,Other things I did before the above: reset all settings
and update to 9.2.1 from iTunes (even though I was already running 9.2.1, iTunes didn't seem to fully realize that!)

Mar 17, 2016 8:50 AM in response to Mrs C Spainby xilvestre,I reset all settings a few times before trying to fix this with no result, and I have just follow your steps until the bing one, and safari don't let me open any link from bing, not even from google when I set the search engine again.
;(

Mar 17, 2016 9:16 AM in response to Mrs C Spainby StephanJC,Hi folks,
did everything mentioned here and elsewhere with no success.
Seems Apple does not care and the press does not care also.
We need some celeb who's got the problem as well and sends a message out, bet that things will start to move than...

After updating my iPad Air 2 iOS 9.2.1, I experienced Safari crashing when trying to open a new tab. I solved this problem by disabling Search Engine Suggestions and Safari Suggestions in Settings, as recommended. However now, if I've done a search, I cannot open any of the links in that search. If I type a specific URL in the Search Box, then I can open the page, but am unable to sign in, use any links from that page, etc. Also, I find that I am unable to open any URL links that I receive in Mail and tapping on a link then locks up Mail... I have done a full sync to my iMac, which can sometimes rectify a problem, but it hasn't helped in this instance.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Mar 17, 2016 12:50 PM in response to PerezTroikoby poacher68,Yesterday I turned off javascript (in Safari advanced settings) and safari search links using Google as the search engine started working and they are still working. I did the same for my wife's Air 2 with the same result. Hypertext links in mail continue to be useless and freeze mail. Having Safari is better than nothing, I guess. My iTunes tells me I need to update 9.2.1 although my Air 2 tells me my software is up to date.
My new 16mg iPhone 6 running up to date 9.2.1 is fine and working normally although iTunes thinks it needs to update 9.2.1!

Mar 17, 2016 1:35 PM in response to poacher68by superotto,This made safari to work for me, too. Although, if I'm inside mail and I click an hyperlink from any of my emails, it does not work again and MAIL freezes, too. :-(

Mar 17, 2016 7:53 PM in response to Mrs C Spainby joshuagstarr,I did a (second) full restore -- from the start. DFU mode to 9.2.1, then to 9.3 Beta 7. Restored from my previous 9.3 Beta 7 iTunes Backup. STILL hosed.
This is just bananas.

Mar 18, 2016 5:44 AM in response to philipkohnby philipkohn,Hmm, both google links from safari and links in mail are still working for me.
My recipe is just a guess since I have exactly one case to work with, and I did a lot of stuff so I don't know what was important.
I don't know about you all, but I have hundreds of apps. I'm curious if that is true for others.
Obviously the problem we are having is not happening to 99.99+% of other people using 9.2.1, or we'd see a lot of forums with this thread active.
I know that my configuration goes back to pre-7.0 days, so I think it may have accumulated a lot of strange stuff that has been carried along during the OS upgrades.
Doing a fresh reinstall from a backup is likely to restore all that old cruft.
Maybe people could go into Settings > Privacy > Diagnostic & Usage data and tell me what they are seeing in there.
I'd bet there are a lot of crash logs. Maybe send a screen shot? There could be a lot of clues about which apps are causing problems in there.
I saw a lot of JetsamEvent-xxx logs that I think are caused when it runs out of memory and has to kill off some processes.
Anyway, here are more things that I did, and maybe someone can see if they can get another example of a "cure" and a better recipe.
Settings > Reset > Reset All Settings
Also, if iTunes wants to upgrade to 9.2.1 even though you are running 9.2.1, then go ahead and do the install.
Get rid of partly deleted apps:
Go into Settings and scroll down to where all the apps are.
If there are apps at the top of the list with a generic/blank icon (sort of an X) then those need to be deleted.
You can try to delete them from Settings > General > Storage > Manage Storage, but that often doesn't work even though they disappear, the are still there the next time.
The only way I've found to get rid of them is to find the app that we deleted and reinstall it, and then delete it. This is not always easy, but the version number and size of the app is still there and sometimes you can find it using a google search like site:apple.com "version 20.1".

Mar 18, 2016 6:23 AM in response to philipkohnby valterfromrimini,The problem is more serious than it seems, and I spoke several times with Apple technicians with extensive testing. Therefore please write only tips related to this problem and that they have a curative effect. Thank you

Mar 18, 2016 6:46 AM in response to valterfromriminiby gabriele2606,In this case let us know when there is a solution .....

Mar 18, 2016 10:02 AM in response to gabriele2606by PerezTroiko,I have tried all the posts I have found and the problem is still there.
The only way I may use is to use BING instead Google. It works 50% of the time.
I have used twice the Apple - tech support and they don't have (or seems to have) a clue.
