Q: Final Cut Pro X will not import footage

for some reason I cannot import standard files from my Canon XC10.

4K files are fine, but the lower resolution files cannot be imported to FCPX. Only the audio gets imported. What am I doing wrong? Can anyone help please?

The files are already in the computer in one of my external hard drives and I can see them well with the VLC application. So, there is nothing wrong with the files. Many thank

DDoes it open in the QT player? What are the complete and exact specs of the media?

the Apple supported camera page seems to indicate that it needs a plugin.

QT converts the file first and then opens only the audio not the film.

What version of FCP? Can you give the complete specs of the media? Maybe with an app like MediaInfo or Media Inspector?

There's something not right there. It's not listing any video codec information.

What software versions are you using for MediaInfo and FCP?

What is the version number of FCPX? Go to the Final Cut Pro menu>About Final Cut Pro.

TThere may be a problem with the file. The lack of video information in the video stream is peculiar. No idea what the problem is.
