Thanks a lot judysings. Actually the inconvenient does not happen frequently and I didn't know about the activity monitor. The next time I will look carefully and hopefully will find out the root cause of the problem. Thanks again,

The battery runs out quickly if the fan is running. I would suggest you try a SMC reset, it's the system that controls the fan. Sometimes there's a confusion and it needs to be reseted. The MacBook Air of a friend had the same problem. It didn't show anything unusual in Activity Monitor. I would suggest doing it, it takes a couple of seconds and does no harm to your Mac or the files on the hard drive.
