You can do it manually:

I have FCP 7 running on El Cap 10.11.13 but compressor < version 4 will not run.
Be advised there is no support for running FCP7 on El Cap, Apple now makes changes to the OS without any regard if any of the FCS applications work or not as they were abandoned by Apple with FCP-X was introduced.

Jan 30, 2016 4:55 PM in response to stevecklineby Shane Ross,If you need an application for work, you really should stick with an OS that supports it. Best option would be to back up your drive, and reformat it, and go back to an earlier OS. 10.8 is the best, as Compressor and Motion break in 10.9
