Early 2011 Macbook Pro OS question.

I have an early 2011 Macbook Pro, Mac OSX, Version 10.7.5, with 4 GB of memory. I've never upgraded to another operating system and want to know if I should and if my Mac can support the El Capitan? Thank you.

Hi Larkin 108,

Based on the information you provided, you can upgrade to the latest version of our operating system, OS X El Capitan, if you wish. Before you do, make sure the third party hardware and software that you work with all the time are compatible with OS X 10.11.3. Also, be sure to back up your computer via Time Machine before making any big changes to your system.

What's New in OS X El Capitan

Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac

Upgrade to OS X El Capitan

Cheers!
