Trying to login to MacBook Pro A1286 - Progress bar to 30% then frozen

Currently I am trying to login to the MacBook. I put the password in and get a progress bar to about 30% then the progress bar just holds there indefinitely.

I have tried many of the solutions that I have found on the forum. Below is the list I have tried.

Reset the NVRAM

Tried to boot from USB disk image holding C - Doesn't see my USB drive

Tried to boot from OSX DVD Disk holding C - Doesnt boot to DVD

Tried to boot from OSX DVD Disk holding Option - Will let me select the disk but loads to a white background with Apple Logo and stays there

Tried boot from USB holding option - USB never shows up

Tried starting in SafeMode holding Shift - Loads the user login screen

Command V - Loads the user login screen

Command S does not do anything

I just had a screen that said to hold power button to shut down then power up to boot into recovery OS. It loads a progress bar below an apple logo to maybe 30% and then I get a blank white screen.

Also notice the screen is displaying kind of weird with those somewhat horizontal lines. Has anyone seen that before??

I could really use some help here. If anyone has any suggestions at all I would love to try anything at this point.User uploaded fileUser uploaded file

Its a MacBook Pro (15-inch, Early 2011). I was reading some more forums last night indicating that these models are prone to graphics card failure due to poor design. Does anyone think that a faulty graphics card would be preventing me from signing in and being unable to boot to install media? Does anyone know where the I could find the cheapest graphics card replacement so I could test?

Your MBP does fall into this category:

Do make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar and have a VST test run. The evaluation will be FREE.

There are two things that you might try that are not on your list:

SMC reset:

An early 2011 MBP came with Snow Leopard. Use the original SL OSX installation disk and see if it will recognize it by hilding down the C key.

Ciao.
