Q: Not able to share my itunes music with others on my imac

Try to share my itunes music and other media with others at home with their own login ids

I have done sharing the iTunes library on local network (from instructions below) and enabled "home sharing of....."

 

 

However, when the other person logs in, they are not able to see my library

I followed the instructions below from:

Share your iTunes library over your home network - Apple Support

  1. Open iTunes.
  2. Mac: From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen, choose iTunes > Preferences.
    Windows: Press the Control and B keys on your keyboard to open the iTunes menu bar. Then choose Edit > Preferences. Learn more about menus in iTunes for Windows.
  3. Click the Sharing tab.
  4. Select “Share my library on my local network."

    Hi:,

    this is your issue : " with their own login ids". For Home Sharing to work, you need to enter the same apple ID account in the Home sharing screen (though you can still use iTunes with different ids on your different computers) as the one you set on the first computer.
