Ipad air update / email notifications

Has anyone recently updated their ipad and received email notifications that apps (facetime/imessage) were used? I updated my ipad air to the 9.2 ios and then noticed that an email was sent to me saying that my account had been logged into. I've changed my password since then, however im wondering if during the update and subsequent setup (hello page) that something may have attempted to temporarily activate those apps. Not quite sure whats going on here... thanks.
