how can I record audio to a macbook via USB

Using a beringer UCA 222 to connect audio mixer or amp to macbook. What software will record and enable me to output in audio cd format for copies?

MacBook (13-inch Late 2009), OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

GarageBand from the app store will do it. http://images.apple.com/ca/education/docs/teachers/Apple-GarageBandQuickStart.pd f
