How to maintain the voice and delete the soft music background?

I need to remove the music of a vocal clip. The music is soft but with varying tonalities. Please advise how to remove the music while retaining the clarity of the voice. When trying to eliminate the music by setting the "learn sound" band to the music only, the voice clarity seems compromised. Suggestions?
