Q: Apple pay not working from start on apple watch

Good evening

I would like to advise whom might be concerned about my experience with my apple watch case *******

The service I have received and still try to receive is very poor I did not expect this from premium brand like apple, we have got 3 iphones 2 ipads and a watch so far at home as I like apple products for reliability and ease of usage, I have been on the phone several times wasting my time since I have an issue with apple pay function on my watch that I have never managed to get working from the beggining of the ownership I have been advised to unpair the watch several times, remove and add the card several times after every attempt I had to visit a shop to see if the issue is fixed and every time I looked very silly when the payment did not work and i had to use the same card on my phone instead, I have advised the support about this several time I have been passed to 3 senior advisors so far and with the first one the repair was scheduled, after finding out the fault was not found and the watch is on its way not rectified, I have contacted 2nd senior advisor that assured me that he will force the watch replacement and provide compensation for the ongoing fault, he advised me that I should contact him when I get the watch back from the first repair I have send several emails and he never got back to me I have paired and tried the watch again and went to the shop just in case but of course that attempt failed again and I have used the phone instead, I have contacted support again last friday and been advised by the 3rd senior advisor that he will contact the second one and ask him to contact myself, I have still not been contacted by anyone, I have been told by the third advisor he will contact me to follow up on Monday so I will wait and see but he also told me that he send me an email with his information but the email never came, I still have got the emails with details of the first two senior advisors for my reference, I have never expected to have so much inconvenience with apple products and support, for the premium prices I have agreed to pay i expect more.

    As you have been able to successfully add your payment card to Apple Pay on your watch, it is possible that the issue is not with your watch, but with how you are presenting it for payment. If your payment details cannot be read by the terminal, it will result in a card not available error message.

     

    To use Apple Pay on your watch, quickly double-press the side button. Your default card will be displayed. If you have added other cards and wish to use one of those instead, swipe to switch between cards.

     

    With your preferred card selected and the message "Ready, hold near reader to pay" displayed on the screen, present your watch to the terminal:

     

    - The watch face should be facing and parallel with the terminal's own screen (you should not be able to see the watch face whilst paying), aligned centrally with the contactless logo on the terminal screen and held closer than 10cm.

    - It should be held in that position for up to a few seconds, until you hear the confirmation beep and haptic pulse. The terminal will also confirm successful completion of the transaction.

    Good evening

    I have read the manual and watched tutorial on apple website before I have contacted apple support for the first time as I do not like to waste other people time in the same I hate to waste my time, I have attached the case number for a reason, please do not respond with trivial solutions and read the case history to start with, this would stop me being even more frustrated with this product. For your information Jonathan after failing to pay with the watch on my wrist while it was showing Ready to pay hold near reader I have even went to the extreme of taking the watch of my hand made sure it is unlocked the card is selected and watch says Ready to pay hold near reader and putting it on the terminal  in several places face down for 10-15 seconds without success. I have tried the same after every pair/unpair watch remove/add card request from apple advisors which you would know after revising the case prior to suggesting a solution. The watch was acting in the same way on os1 and os2/2.1.  My intention is not to offend anyone but get the issue resolved but I do expect any apple representative to read into the case before suggesting the same solutions that failed several times already. If you have no insight in open cases please tell me and I will not bother anyone on this forum. If the fault would not lie in the watch but in the card setup I would expect the same card to fail on the phone apple pay feature as well or many more users to raise complaint with using the same bank.

    my mistake for assuming that this forum is apple managed as it is accessible from apple website.

    I will carry on with the case via apple support phone line.
