External DVD player is no longer recognized after applying 2016-001 update to El Capitan

Applied 2016-001 update to Mac Pro running El Capitan, and my external DVD player is no longer recognized. Has anyone else seen this?


I've attempted shutting down computer and then restarting. No effect.


Version 10.10.5

Mac Pro (Late 2013)

3.7 GHz Quad-Core Xeon E5

12 GB

OWC USB-3 Blu-Ray drive connected via OWC 12 Port Thunderbolt 2 Dock

I'm running 10.11.3 and my external DVD drive is no longer recognized. Plugging into the USB port is providing power as usual. It's not an issue with the DVD drive.

I tried restarting in safe mode, resetting PRAM, etc. Nothing is helping.
