Borderless printing

I'd like to know how to print borderless.

My printer (Brother MFC-J6920DW) can print borderless .pdf's made by others and also prints borderless from OS X Photos. This makes me quite confident the driver nor printer are the problem, even though the Brother helpdesk says 'We can't print borderless on Mac '.

When I try to print directly from for example Mail, Illustrator, Photoshop or an illustrator made .pdf opened in Preview, the printer driver preview will show a borderless preview miniature, but no matter what settings I use, the print will always have a 3 mm / 1/4 inch border around the edge of the paper.

How do I fix this?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.2), 2nd monitor, Wacom

You're in the 10.10 / Yosemite forum. You might want to try the 10.11 El Capitan forum 😉

I would be surprised if that would make the difference though, because the printer driver and the printer (and firmware) itself is where it mostly happens. Have you checked / updated the printer driver? (There is also a printer firmware update for this printer that I installed)
