Q: Unable to request support from Apple due to erased Macintosh HD resulting in no startup disk

As I had to erase my Macintosh HD as it was not able to repair the disk my Mac has in turn removed the startup disk. I am running in Recovery mode and tried to download Lion but "temporarily unavailable" message is displayed. I cannot request support from Apple online support as there is no serial number when in Recovery mode so I am at a loss. I have downloaded (and paid) for OS X Lion which I don't believe I should have had to pay for as it was already on my Macbook when purchasing. However, waiting for it to be "delivered" to my email  - not sure what the delay is.

I am by no means tech savvy, so please take it easy on the tech language

Thanks

MacBook Pro, null

    Your serial number is printed in very tiny print on the bottom of your Macbook Pro

    It depends on your MacBrook Pro Model, i.e., you may have to remove the user replaceable battery.: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204347

    You should really start a new thread, as this one really does not have any relationship to your problem (I assume you still have a running OS X, from your description).

    So I suggest you start a new thread, describe your problem.

    _AND_ post the output from EtreCheck

    <https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6174>

    <http://etrecheck.com>

    But off the top of my head, I'm guessing that you have some 3rd party software installed that is not playing nice with El Capitan, even if it used to play nice with a previous version of OS X.  AND/OR you need more RAM, or your disk is starting to use a "Walker" to get around

    Start a new thread and post the EtreCheck output and someone will come along and give you some additional advice.  This thread is the wrong place for that discussion.

    Yes, you should start your own thread. Also, it's not a good idea to post your serial numbers in these postings.
