photo program will not respond

Since the latest update my photo program will not shut down when commanded to do so ~

It keeps giving me a pop up window that states “closing the Library"

i think I read something about when sharing with other devices there becomes a issue.

I have stopped iPad and iPhone from sharing with no luck for my Mac...

Help!
